900 TR Centrifugal Chiller — MPIN Solar Project
Unloading and shifting of a massive 900 TR water-cooled centrifugal chiller by Trane Technologies for the MPIN Solar project — one of the largest single chiller units handled by IPN Lifters.
The Challenge
The 900 TR centrifugal chiller is an exceptionally heavy and large piece of HVAC equipment. Its weight and dimensions required a high-capacity crane and a meticulously planned rigging sequence to avoid any structural damage to the unit during handling.
Our Approach
A full lift study was conducted to determine crane positioning and sling configurations for the 900 TR unit. The chiller was unloaded using a 100T crane and transferred to pipe rollers for the final shift into the plant room. Trane Technologies' handling guidelines were followed throughout.
The Result
The 900 TR chiller was successfully unloaded and positioned on its foundation. Trane confirmed no handling damage and the unit was cleared for commissioning immediately after placement.
