Transformer Shifting — Skipper Limited
Internal shifting and repositioning of power transformers at Skipper Limited's Kolkata facility as part of a plant layout reconfiguration.
The Challenge
Multiple transformers needed to be shifted within the plant premises during active production. The movement route passed through areas with overhead bus bars and existing electrical installations, requiring precise clearance management.
Our Approach
Each transformer was jacked up, placed on pipe rollers, and carefully guided along the planned route. Spotters monitored clearances from overhead bus bars throughout. The work was phased to minimise disruption to ongoing production.
The Result
All transformers were successfully repositioned as per the new plant layout. Production downtime was limited to planned maintenance windows only.
