Chiller Lifting to 45m Height — Peerless Hospital
Lifting and shifting a chiller machine to the rooftop of Peerless Hospital at 45 metres height with a 20-metre crane radius — one of the most challenging lifts in a hospital environment.
The Challenge
The chiller had to be lifted to the 45-metre-high rooftop with a 20-metre radius — pushing the crane's capacity envelope. The lift was adjacent to an occupied hospital building with patients, staff, and ambulance access that could not be blocked.
Our Approach
A detailed crane study was carried out to confirm load charts at 45m height and 20m radius. An exclusion zone was established on the ground level. The lift was executed during early morning hours to minimise wind load and building occupancy. Continuous communication between the crane operator, rigger, and rooftop team ensured precision placement.
The Result
The chiller was successfully lifted and placed on the rooftop in a single lift operation. No damage, no disruption to hospital access, and the entire operation was completed within the early morning window.
