210 MVA Transformer — NTPC Farakka
Unloading, dragging, and shifting a 210 MVA power transformer to its foundation at NTPC's Farakka thermal power station.

The Challenge
The 210 MVA transformer had to be moved from the rail siding to the transformer bay inside the NTPC plant — a distance of over 200 metres through existing plant infrastructure. NTPC's strict safety protocols and confined working spaces added complexity.
Our Approach
Coordinated with NTPC's safety and operations teams to plan a phased dragging and shifting operation. The unit was first unloaded onto a roller track using hydraulic jacks, then carefully dragged along a prepared route to the foundation. Continuous monitoring ensured no deviation from the planned path.
The Result
The transformer was successfully placed on its foundation pad, aligned to NTPC's specifications. The operation was completed safely with full compliance to NTPC's HSE requirements.
